Physical Examination (single—channel video, 2012) Homage to Owen Land. A short structural film that shows viewers the elements of film stock that usually cannot be seen during movie projection, like sprocket holes and sound track area. It also shows examination of breasts.
Mauri Lehtonen (b. 1985 in Laitila, Finlandia) — a filmmaker and a writer. Style of his film works varies from abstract structuralism to experimental pop mutations. His writings can be defined as “post—apocalyptic trash poems”.
He studied information technology and jurnalism at the University of Turku. In 2010 he received Euroshorts. Best Experimental Film Award for Overload and a Scholarship of the Arts Council of Finland. His works were shown at Experiments in Cinema Festival v8.53 (USA, 2013), Berlin International Directors Lounge (2013), Videomedeja (Serbia, 2012), Euroshorts in Gdańsk (2012) and Videoholica International Video Art Festival in Varna (2011).
He lives and works in Turku.
