Ukrainian Navigator (single—channel video, 2012) An experimental road movie. Post—apocalyptic story of a navigator, a white batman, in which the meaning of the road is both primitive and symbolic.
The immensity of a natural landscape of Crimea (and other places of Ukraine) serves as a background for the dreamlike story of a navigator who finds himself alone in an empty space of an abandoned nuclear power station (the only one in the world that one can enter illegaly for a small fee), a secret military airport or a huge radio telescope to follow spaceships.
It is as if a long videoclip based upon naturally beautiful landscapes and photography by Maria Apoleika.
Piotr Wygachiewicz a.k.a. Marcelo Zammenhoff (b. 1970 in Łódź) — a contemporary Polish video artist, photographer, performer, designer, composer. A representative of the Polish off cinema and an experimental electro/synth—pop/noise scene. He co—founded several musical groups (F.P.Z., Morris Generativ, Protoplazma, Górecki—500, E—1, Mikrowafle, Throbbing Wafle), and film groups (PLAZMA TV). He was the author of numerous avant—garde TV programmes, among others, “Atlantis TV” (TVP 2).
He received numerous film and music awards, i. e. for the remake of the first Polish feature film from 1907 and during John Cage`s Year celebrations. He also builds light—mechanical electro—installations.
He likes climbing.
Maria Apoleika (b. 1986 in Bydgoszcz) — works with illustrative painting; is the author of films and videos. She is the student of the last semester at the Polish National Film, Television and Theater School (PWSFTviT) in Łódź.
She exhibited widely and received several awards, among others, first prize in “Heyah klaps” competition (2005) and a honourable mention in an international composition competition as part of the John Cage`s Year celebrations.
She wants to become a gardener and a biologist.
