mujo is a site—specific performance recalling power of expression, medieval Buddhist thoughts, ephemeral nature, and history and tradition of Wrocław.

Mari Ota (b. 1982 in Nagoya, Aichi) — a Japanese new media artist and a performer.
A graduate of the Tama Art University in Tokyo (BA in Oil, 2006) and Kyoto City University of Arts (MA in Oil, 2008). She also studied at the Royal College of Art, London (2007).
Her works were shown at numerous group (including Media Art Biennale WRO 2011 Alternative Now, Wrocław, Poland, 2011; Galerie Clemens Thimme, Karlsruhe, Germany, 2010; Mizuma Action, Tokyo, 2008, 2006; ARTCOURT Gallery, Osaka, 2007; gallery16, Kyoto, 2007; Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, Tokyo, 2006) and solo (Artists Unimited Galerie, Bielefeld, Germany, 2013; Social Kitchen Space, Kyoto, 2012; Mizuma Action, Tokyo, 2009; Gallery K, Seoul, 2007; Galerie Tokyo Humanite, Tokyo, 2006, 2005) exhibitions. Her performative works include: Groupe Tanpopo Modern Dance Recital / Art Pia Hall, Nagoya, Aichi, 2012, 2010, 2008; Fusion of various performances / Chikusa—za, Nagoya, Aichi, 2011; OTA Mari Performance ìWhirlî (Mawaru) / shin—bi, Kyoto, 2009; Matsumoto Omnibus / Theatre Ginei, Matsumoto, Nagano, 2009; OTA Mari Exhibition ìperformanceî / node (Tokyo Zokei University), Hachioji, Tokyo, 2005.
She has recently worked as a guest artist in Bielefeld, Germany, as part of an artist—in—residence program Artists Unlimited (2013).
