Spells (single—channel video, 2012) Apotropaic and protective rituals are deeply rooted in folk culture. Videoperformance Spells moves them to a modern context, directing attention to the problems emerging in the virtual space. Alternative reality becomes a source of harmful behaviours that harm the recipient in a direct way, objectifying it. The interaction between two figures makes an abstract real; a gesture of a mature woman protects the younger, the words scar over the body, they also purify, and the imaginal, magical sphere, magic, finds its causative form.
